The look we dreamed of
When Mark and Marliek had their new home built, choosing self-smoothing flooring was an easy decision. “We had always dreamed of a self-smoothing floor. Of course, we looked at other flooring options too. But none had such a sleek, seamless and bright appearance. Absolutely beautiful!”
A warm atmosphere
“The floor has subtle shades of grey with a warm undertone. This creates a warm atmosphere and a balanced feel, enhanced by the natural materials in our interior. The kitchen, staircase and blinds are all made of wood. We also played with earthy tones and pale pink and yellow accents.”
Seeing how the colour works
“We chose this colour after plenty of looking and comparing. You have a particular picture in mind, and then you look for what fits. Before making our final choice, we laid large colour samples on the floor at home. Only then can you really see how a colour works in your space. You can also see straight away how the light affects it.”
It stands up to a lot
“We have young children, so the floor has to put up with a lot. It handles it well. You don’t need to worry too much about scratches. A self-smoothing floor can last 25 years without problems if it is installed properly. Choosing the right flooring installer is therefore very important. Preparation turned out to be crucial too. You need a completely level substrate to achieve a sleek finish. We don’t have that expertise ourselves, so it was great to be able to turn to Arturo and the installer for help.”
The latest topcoat
“The floor has a beautiful, highly scratch-resistant matt topcoat: Arturo PU7310. It was one of Arturo’s latest products, and we were among the first to have it. Maintenance? Very easy, actually. We received cleaning advice and a cleaning product specifically for self-smoothing floors. We also fitted glides under the table and chair legs. They work really well. All in all, we’re very happy with our self-smoothing floor!”
