Van Kemenade Vloeren installed approximately 1,085 m² of seamless Arturo PU2050 self-smoothing flooring at Best Library. The warm NCS S 3502-Y colour and matt finish create a calm, durable foundation for the library, offices and washrooms.

A durable, seamless flooring solution using Arturo PU2050 was selected for the refurbishment of Best Library. Approximately 1,085 m² of self-smoothing flooring was installed throughout the library, offices and washrooms. The project was carried out by Van Kemenade Vloeren.
The existing Marmoleum and carpet were first carefully removed. The substrate was then prepared using UZIN NC 112, Arturo EP6600 and an Arturo EP6600 scratch coat. Arturo PU2050 self-smoothing flooring was subsequently applied in NCS S 3502-Y. The floor was finished with two matt coats of Arturo PU7310, providing a durable, wear-resistant and stylish finish.
Improving the building’s sustainability was a particular focus of this project. As the heat pump had not yet been installed, controlling the conditions during installation required extra attention. Temperature, relative humidity and dew point had to be closely monitored to ensure suitable application conditions. Combined with a tight schedule, this required careful planning and execution.
Arturo PU2050 was selected partly for its ease of application and generous pot life. This allowed adjoining sections of flooring to be carefully applied wet-on-wet, which is essential for an even, completely seamless result. Technical advice from Arturo adviser Marc Weijmans supported the installation team throughout the project.
The result is modern, easy-to-maintain and comfortable self-smoothing flooring that perfectly suits the appearance and intensive use of a public facility such as the Best Library.
